Dierencrematorium Eden

Additional information

2x farewells

If the pet is brought in, farewells can take place after we have discussed all wishes. If we have collected your pet from the veterinarian, we will always contact you to discuss the wishes and can make an appointment for you to come and say goodbye. Afterwards, one additional farewell can be arranged free of charge if needed. This is a very personal choice. Some people wish to come several times to say goodbye — this is possible, but from the 3rd visit onward a fee applies. We charge a supplement of €30 for each extra visit to say goodbye.

The number of times you can come to say goodbye is therefore not limited, but it becomes chargeable after the second time.

If you bring the pet to us after 8:00 PM (20:00h), it will no longer be possible to pay your respects on the same day. An appointment can be made to say goodbye at another time.

On Sundays and public holidays, paying your respects is not possible. If you bring your pet on a Sunday or public holiday, an appointment can be made for another day.

We may also refuse a saying goodbye for hygienic or other reasons; this will always be discussed.

If your pet has fleas or other parasites, please inform us at first contact. In that case, farewells are not possible, and no paw print or lock of hair can be taken. If we are not informed in advance, a minimum charge of €25 will be applied for extra cleaning of the mourning room. We thank you for your understanding.

A paw print

You can always request an extra paw print; we charge a supplement of €15 for this. This additional print will be from the same paw as the included print. If you want an extra print of the other paw (i.e., both left and right), a supplement of €25 will be charged. We do our best to create the most beautiful keepsake and put a lot of time and effort into it, doing so with great love and respect for the animal.

A lock of hair

You can also request an extra lock of hair; a supplement of €15 applies. We do our best to make the lock so that you recognise your own pet in it, with all its colours preserved in a small plexiglass cube. For some breeds it is very difficult to fill the cube completely, but we will always look for a solution to still provide a keepsake.

Hug stone

Everyone who comes to us may choose a hug or comfort stone. Our hug stones are natural stones, minerals each with their own meaning and energy.

If you choose a stone by feeling — the one that immediately catches your eye, or whose shape appeals to you or feels right — then you have chosen the right stone. It is the stone you need at that moment. It is also a tangible keepsake, something you can always keep with you.

Follow the cremation process

You can follow the cremation process: farewells take place before the cremation, then your beloved pet is taken for a lock of hair and a paw print to be taken. If desired, you may accompany your pet to the oven and optionally wait at Eden until the cremation is finished. A separate waiting room is provided where you have full privacy and may have a drink.

For safety reasons, the animal is always placed in the oven by one of our staff; you may not do this yourself.

The price for this service is €60. This price also applies if you decide not to wait at Eden or decide not to go to the cremation oven with your beloved pet and still wait here at Eden. (Price is valid for up to 4 people. For more people a different price applies; available on request.)

We are always available 24/7 for emergencies, i.e., in the event of a death and you need immediate action.

If, for example, your pet dies in the afternoon, you need time to say goodbye at home, and you decide to call us after opening hours, this is no longer considered an emergency and means you can no longer reach us. We can always discuss the details of your farewell.

For information, greetings, or other arrangements, we are available Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM to 7:00 PM and Saturday from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM.
